Position: Class B Driver / Warehouse Associate

The Retrofit Companies, an industry leader in environmental recycling and lighting, seeks an ambitious Class B Truck Driver/Warehouse Associate to join our thriving organization. The Class B Truck Driver/Warehouse Associate will be responsible for driving truck to specified locations as directed by the logistics manager to load and unload material for recycling. The right candidate will have 6-12 months of related experience or training in similar service-oriented driving position, knowledge of DOT requirements and a basic understanding of the recycling industry. This position is full time M-F and will include 4-5 weekends per year. Overnight trips may be required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform duties as assigned by the warehouse manager
- Report to or call in to the Logistics Manager daily as required to report on or obtain schedule of pick-ups assigned or to learn of changes in schedule
- Load and unload barrels of lamps, containers of ballasts and other recyclable electrical equipment
- Fill out logbook and other required paperwork at every pick-up location to provide full, accurate and timely information regarding travel distances, length of stops, information obtained from customers etc.
- Ensure in coordination with the Logistics Manager that all maintenance on vehicle and equipment is performed in a timely and cost-effective manner
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be knowledgeable of Department of Transportation (DOT) Requirements, regulations, and proper procedures
- Must have a clean driving record
- Class B operator’s license, HAZ Mat endorsement
- Must be insurable under the company’s insurance policy
- Must have the skill and knowledge to operate a large box truck in city traffic or OTR
Preferred Qualifications:
- Six months to one year of related experience and/or training in a similar service-oriented driving position
- Class A
Required Skills:
- Lifting, carrying and/or moving materials, supplies and/or equipment weighing more than 50 lbs., with mechanical assistance as safety dictates, will be a regular requirement of the job
- Must be capable of operating a forklift
- Must be able to hear and speak clearly to communicate effectively on the telephone and face-to-face with co-workers, superiors, and customers
Pay: $18-$23/hour, depending on experience and abilities.
