Retrofit Electric is now an EVITP Affiliated Contractor
Published December 2024
The Electric Vehicle market continues to expand in North America. It is critical that EVSE equipment be properly installed to the highest standards to safety and quality. The Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Training Program (EVITP) program provides qualified electricians with the most comprehensive training available in the market today. All EVITP Certified Electricians must pass a certification exam for proof of knowledge and skill.
At Retrofit Electric, we are dedicated to delivering high-quality installations and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism. We recognize the importance of continuous improvement and eagerly embrace opportunities to enhance our team’s expertise. After learning about the EVITP training, we knew we wanted to become an EVITP affiliated contractor. We’re proud that our very own Derik Tradup has achieved EVITP certification. Certainly, this accomplishment not only highlights his dedication but also reinforces our commitment to excellence in the field.
To be eligible for EVITP
A participant must be a state licensed or certified electrician. On the other hand, if the participant works in a state that does not license or certify electricians, the participant must provide documentation of a minimum of 8,000 hours of hands-on electrical construction experience.
What is the Importance of EVITP Certification?
- Expertise and Knowledge: EVITP-certified installers undergo rigorous training and are tested on that knowledge, equipping them with the technical know-how to handle various EV charging stations. This expertise ensures efficient installations, reducing the risk of errors or malfunctions.
- Safety Compliance: Safety should be the number one consideration for any electrical installation project. EVITP-certified installers adhere to the highest safety standards, minimizing the risk of accidents and electrical faults, passing that risk reduction on to customers.
- Regulatory Compliance: EVITP-certified installers are well-versed in the numerous rules & regulations surrounding these projects, ensuring that installations comply with all necessary codes and requirements.
- Efficient Troubleshooting: Undeniably, even when quality EV products are professionally installed, issues or malfunctions may arise. EVITP-certified installers can diagnose and troubleshoot problems effectively, minimizing downtime and ensuring a seamless charging experience.
- Enhanced Customer Confidence: Employing an EVITP-certified installer reflects a commitment to quality, professionalism and safety. Rest easy knowing you’re working with trained professionals.
