What Keeps You Busy Outside of Work

3 kids. Husband, dog, cat, and right now we are building a house. The new goal is to be in by the middle of March. We bought 45 acres. We raise cattle and some pigs for my daughter that participates in 4H.

Have you Always Been in Finance?

I’ve been in Finance for about 12 years. Every assessment I ever took in high school told me that I should get my degree in accounting, and I thought that was crazy because I couldn’t understand why anyone would aspire to be an accountant. But here I am. I kind of fell into it and realized I was pretty good at it.

What is the Most Unusual Job You’ve Had?

My first job was Burger King. I don’t eat at Burger King anymore. They made me work the drive-through because I could enunciate my words and people could understand me. I was fine with it; you’re not looking at anybody, so as you’re having that conversation you can be silly or fun and it didn’t make me feel self conscious, and then you only see them for a split second.

What Were Your Hobbies Pre-Mom?

I was a soccer player. But actually my plan outside of high school was to join the military, but then I had my daughter and things changed really fast. I think it would have been a good step for me. I didn’t have any direction, any guidance, and I thought I could gain some life experience.

What is Something People May Not Know About You?

In the spring time we raise cattle. Raising and eating your own beef…I mean I can’t eat store bought meat anymore. I am a city girl, I did not grow up with this. Chasing cows because they got out of the fenced yard is not something I ever saw myself doing.
