The state has taken a “craft-based” approach. This promotes small, Minnesota-based businesses to (literally) cultivate and grow this industry within the state. This will, no doubt, create a “green rush” in Minnesota! ### **Commercial Electrical Services for Cannabis Growers** At Retrofit Electric, we are a full-service electrical contractor with over 32 years of experience in lighting and electrical services. We can help Minnesota’s new commercial cannabis growers with all aspects of electrical work needed to build out their indoor facilities. From standard lighting and grow lighting, to dehumidification and HVAC systems specifically designed to maximize crop yields, we’ll make you glad you hired us. ### **Benefits of LED Grow Lights** While older technologies may be familiar to some growers, LED grow lighting offers significant advantages:![Cannabis Grow Facility](https://retrofitcompanies.com/hs-fs/hubfs/WEBSITE_2025/Blog/Cannabis%20Grow%20Facility%20AdobeStock_264289595.jpeg?width=495&height=330&name=Cannabis%20Grow%20Facility%20AdobeStock_264289595.jpeg) - **Lower energy consumption:** LED lights use less energy than traditional grow lights, resulting in substantial cost savings on your electricity bills. - **Higher yields:** LED lights provide the optimal light spectrum for plant growth, often leading to increased yields and improved plant quality. - **Reduced heat:** LEDs generate significantly less heat than traditional grow lights, reducing your cooling needs and creating a more comfortable environment for your plants. ### **Utility Incentives** Xcel Energy and Minnesota’s Center for Energy and Environment (CEE) both offer commercial incentive programs. These can offset the upfront cost of LED grow lights, making them a more affordable option for growers. While Xcel’s program supports growing canopies of all sizes, CEE’s program is designed to support small to mid-sized businesses in Xcel Energy territory and provides specific incentives for canopies under 8,000 square feet. **You can find more information on CEE’s program here: **[**https://www.mncee.org/led-grow-lighting-rebates**](https://www.mncee.org/led-grow-lighting-rebates) Let Retrofit Electric help you navigate the exciting new world of cannabis cultivation in Minnesota. Let’s grow together!   ## RELATED ITEMS [![Retrofit Electric Electrical Contractor Near Me New Construction](https://retrofitcompanies.com/hubfs/ELE%20New%20Construction%20Featured%20Image.png) ](https://retrofitcompanies.com/electric-new-construction) [![LED Lighting & Controls, Lighting Company Near Me](https://retrofitcompanies.com/hubfs/ELE%20Lighting%20%26%20Controls%20Featured%20Image.png) ](https://retrofitcompanies.com/electrical-lighting-controls) [![Retrofit Electric News & Events](https://retrofitcompanies.com/hubfs/ELE%20News%20Featured%20Image.png) ](https://retrofitcompanies.com/retrofit-electric-news-events) [ABOUT](https://retrofitcompanies.com/about-trc) [CONTACT](https://retrofitcompanies.com/trc-corporate-contact-us) [CAREERS](https://retrofitcompanies.com/working-at-trc) [NEWS](https://retrofitcompanies.com/retrofit-electric-news-events) The Retrofit Companies, Inc. is a Woman-Owned, full-service Electrical contractor providing services to commercial, industrial and retail customers in the Twin Cities and Southern MN. ![The Retrofit Companies](https://retrofitcompanies.com/hubfs/Logos/Retrofit-Electric-logo_white-stacked-text.png) [Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/TheRetrofitCo) [LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/company/2340383/) [Twitter](https://twitter.com/theretrofitco) #### CORPORATE: SOUTHERN MN 1010 Hoffman Drive Suite A Owatonna, MN 55060 #### TWIN CITIES METRO 2960 Yorkton Blvd. Little Canada, MN 55117 [info@retrofitcompanies.com](mailto:info@retrofitcompanies.com) [507-455-2181](tel:+15074552181) ![](https://ws.zoominfo.com/pixel/60da1f2c3a80440015da6fa9) ```json { "@context" : "https://schema.org", "@type" : "BlogPosting", "author" : { "@type" : "Person", "name" : "Wendy Fry", "url" : "https://retrofitcompanies.com/blog/author/wendy-fry" }, "dateModified" : "2026-03-16T19:54:40.362Z", "datePublished" : "2026-03-14T09:45:00.000Z", "headline" : "Utility Rebates for Cannabis Growers", "image" : [ "https://retrofitcompanies.com/hubfs/Cannabis%20Utility%20Rebates.png" ], "mainEntityOfPage" : { "@id" : "https://retrofitcompanies.com/blog/utility-rebates-for-cannabis-growers", "@type" : "WebPage" }, "publisher" : { "@type" : "Organization", "logo" : { "@type" : "ImageObject", "url" : "https://retrofitcompanies.com/hubfs/The%20Retrofit%20Companies%20Logo_grey%20stacked%20text%20(1).png" }, "name" : "The Retrofit Companies, Inc." } } ```
